Turkey’s NGOs Reveal Comprehensive Report on Syria’s Future
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül highlighted the importance of the initiative, saying such efforts are valuable for preventing future atrocities worldwide by learning from past crises and for supporting Syria in overcoming its ongoing suffering more effectively.
Selim Cerrah, chairman of the Cihannuma Association, described the report as the product of four months of research on Syria and expressed gratitude to the collaborating organizations for their contributions. IHH President Bulent Yildirim noted that the foundation’s work extends beyond Syria to Gaza, Africa, and other regions in need.
Rector Nevzat Simsek emphasized that the report offers a constructive framework for evaluating Türkiye’s regional expertise in Syria’s reconstruction, stressing that the Syrian crisis cannot be addressed solely through humanitarian aid. The report includes short-, medium-, and long-term solutions aimed at stabilizing and rebuilding the country.
The event also featured a screening of IHH’s documentary on Syria and a panel discussion moderated by Professor Zekeriyya Kursun, a faculty member at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University.
