Turkey Mourns Lives Lost in DR Congo Mine Collapse
In an official statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said Ankara is “deeply saddened” by the tragedy.
“We extend our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the ministry added, highlighting Türkiye’s solidarity with the affected communities.
The incident took place on Wednesday at the Rubaya coltan mining site in North Kivu province.
According to reports, the disaster claimed the lives of more than 200 people, making it one of the deadliest mining-related accidents in the region in recent years.
Türkiye’s message reflects ongoing international concern and sympathy for the victims, as rescue and recovery efforts continue amid challenging conditions at the site.
