Turkey arrests twenty-nine suspects of ISIS in new operation

(MENAFN) Turkish security services have taken 29 individuals into custody during a large-scale counterterrorism operation carried out across Istanbul, in connection with alleged ISIS (Daesh) propaganda activities tied to a recent fatal assault in the northwestern city of Yalova, according to official accounts released on Wednesday.

As stated by reports, investigators identified 28 individuals suspected of disseminating ISIS-related propaganda through social media platforms, along with one additional suspect believed to have played an active role within the organization itself.

The operation involved coordinated, simultaneous raids on 29 separate locations throughout Istanbul. Authorities confirmed that all identified suspects were detained during these actions.

Searches conducted at the suspects’ homes resulted in the confiscation of three handguns, ammunition, a large quantity of digital devices and files, as well as documents linked to organizational activities.

Officials noted that the ongoing investigation is directly connected to Monday’s deadly incident in Yalova, in which three police officers lost their lives. Authorities reiterated their firm commitment to pursuing all terrorist networks relentlessly and continuing counterterrorism efforts without compromise.
