Turkey is ready to contribute in aid in Eastern Mediterranean

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, the Turkish National Defense Ministry stated that it is ready to help with aid operations in the Eastern Mediterranean, if needed.

In an announcement on NSosyal stated that “Türkiye is closely monitoring the safe conduct of humanitarian aid activities carried out by civilian ships currently sailing in the Eastern Mediterranean, within the framework of international law and humanitarian values.”

The ministry stated that its vessels, already conducting regular training and search-and-rescue operations in the area, stand prepared to offer humanitarian aid assistance in the Eastern Mediterranean. This aid will be delivered as necessary, coordinating with both national and international partners.

It also added that “Türkiye will continue to fulfill its responsibilities everywhere and under all circumstances to protect humanitarian values and ensure the safety of innocent civilians, as it has done so far.”
